SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Several people have been displaced and a cat was rescued after a fire broke out at a residential building in San Francisco's Telegraph Hill neighborhood Friday night.
A resident told ABC7 News that she was walking home around 5 p.m. when she noticed one of the top units of the building on fire and immediately called 911.
SFFD crews responded to the building in the 100 block of Montgomery Street and worked quickly to put out the flames.
Fire officials say this was a challenging incident due to the proximity of other buildings and the steep street.
At least five units were damaged in the building where the fire started and a neighboring building.
Thankfully, no one was injured in this fire.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown, but an investigation is underway.
