

NOVATO, Calif. (KGO) -- A 31-year-old man has died following a shooting in Novato on Tuesday, police said.
Officers responded at about 10:10 a.m. to the 400 block of Alameda del Prado, where callers reported hearing multiple shots fired. The man was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital, police said. Police later saying the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators believe the victim and suspect knew each other, and preliminary investigation shows the shooting was a targeted attack, and believed to be gang related.
Authorities ordered residents on Alameda del Prado and Calle Arboleda to shelter in place Tuesday morning. Police said the orders were lifted as of about 2:40 p.m. and roadways in the area are now open.
Police are still searching for the suspect, who ran away from the area. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and wearing a black mask with dark pants and a gray hooded sweatshirt. He was last seen fleeing toward Calle Arboleda.
Police said the Marin County Sheriff's Office and California Highway Patrol were assisting with the search as well as a canine team from the Vallejo Police Department.
