
OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- A memorial service was held Tuesday for parole agent Joshua Byrd, who was shot and killed in Oakland earlier this month.
Bagpipes played as his casket left the funeral Tuesday and officers lined the streets to pay their respects.
Hundreds of officers from across the state turned out to pay their respects.

Joshua Byrd, 40, was a Navy veteran and served as a correctional officer for more than a decade before becoming a parole agent in 2024.
His accused killer, 48-year-old Bryan Keith Hall, is facing murder charges.
He's being held without bail.
