The Colts' potential trade of Jonathan Taylor continues to take the spotlight heading into Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, with Indianapolis sitting on an offer of a second-round draft pick and more for the star running back.

Yet the Colts view Taylor as a potential part of any rebuild, despite multiple teams' interest.

Whether the Colts pull the trigger on a blockbuster trade and whether they get the Christian McCaffrey-style compensation package they seek are among the biggest storylines prior to Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline.

Here are some of the other hot-button items ahead of the deadline:

Despite their 0-7 record, the Los Angeles Chargers continue to tell teams that they have no interest in trading Khalil Mack, and the veteran pass rusher will not be going anywhere before Tuesday's deadline, according to sources.

"I want Khalil Mack here," Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters. "Khalil Mack wants to be here."

The Chargers have prioritized keeping Mack for the leadership he provides and talent he brings, characterizing him as a pillar of the organization. They might be winless, but they are not acting that way in trade discussions regarding any of their players.

Los Angeles also doesn't like the message of giving up on the season. Calls from rival general managers on Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey and others have received hard nos.

Indianapolis has told other teams that it has received an offer of a fourth-round pick for wide receiver Josh Downs, who requested to be traded in the final year of his contract.

The Colts initially were asking for a third-round pick for Downs. But if they want, based on what they have told teams, a fourth-rounder is waiting for them.

Downs isn't the only Colts wide receiver to draw interest. Veteran Keenan Allenhas been the subject of some inquiries and is another name to watch as the deadline approaches. On the defensive side, defensive tackle Grover Stewart has continued to receive trade interest, though Indianapolis is aiming high with teams feeling like the price is more than they would give right now.

The Denver Broncos have checked in around the league on tight ends, going so far as to ambitiously -- and some would say outrageously -- inquire aboutArizona Cardinals star Trey McBride, who is from Fort Morgan, Colorado, and played at Colorado State.

The Cardinals made it very clear they have zero intention of trading McBride, and Denver turned its attention elsewhere.

The Commanders haven't completely abandoned the idea of adding wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who was rumored during the summer to end up in Washington, according to sources.

Before an Aiyuk deal could happen -- if it were to happen -- the organization would have to have discussions with multiple people. It's not a no, but it's also not a yes just yet.

The New York Giants have made no secret of their desire to swing big at the trade deadline, eyeing the running back and defensive tackle markets.

New York's interest in Commanders defensive tackle Daron Payne before his injury makes it clear that coach John Harbaugh and general manager Joe Schoen see the opportunity in front of them and aren't afraid to offer future assets to improve the team.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have continued to make calls about adding a playmaker to their defense, according to sources.

As aggressive as the Jaguars have been in recent years with big trades -- acquiring wide receiver Jakobi Meyers on deadline day last year and moving up to the second overall pick in the 2025 draft -- nobody will be surprised if Jacksonville pulls off another trade by the deadline.

The loss of DaVon Hamiltoncreated a void in the middle and is a spot where they could look to add. They also could wind up dealing wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., whom they have received multiple inquiries on in recent years while resisting all overtures.

Thomas played only 19 snaps during Thursday night's victory in Baltimore and did not catch a pass. The Kansas City Chiefs have continued to be intrigued by Thomas.

The Tennessee Titans are not interested in trading running back Tony Pollard, but they are listening on veteran wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who could be had for a late-round pick.

At least three teams appear to be in the wide receiver market, and quite possibly more: Kansas City, Pittsburgh and San Francisco, according to sources. Each organization has been making calls to see if there is a player it can add by the deadline.

The 49ers are also combing the tight end market, which would be another way to add a pass-catcher if a trade for a receiver doesn't come to fruition.br/]
