Terrifying video shows moment train smashes into 18-wheeler hauling cars

A train slammed into a semi-trailer truck carrying cars after a driver attempted to maneuver across a level crossing in Schertz, Texas, on Sunday, November 2.

Video captured by Camron M Colwell shows the moment the train smashes into the 18-wheeler. In the footage, two women can be heard shouting "get out of the truck" moments before the collision.

Speaking to Storyful, Colwell said he was on the way to church when he saw the trailer stopped on the tracks.

"I captured a train running into a trailer that was stuck on the railroad tracks. We saw the truck stuck and within minutes the train came and hit it," Colwell said.

The force of the impact pushed the truck cabin about 50 yards, reports said.

Schertz Police Department said the 18-wheeler had been stopped on the south part of the tracks when it was struck by the westbound train. No injuries were reported and the train did not derail.

The intersection where the crash occurred remained closed for up to six hours and the incident was under investigation, police said.
