CLEARLAKE, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are investigating a double homicide that was discovered during a traffic stop in Clearlake.
On April 5, the California Highway Patrol tried to pull over a Chevrolet Suburban with expired registration along Highway 53.
The car stopped about a mile away on 18th Avenue when one person jumped out and tried to run off.
Investigators say they found a dead body in the car, then later learned of a second victim, who'd been tossed down an embankment off of State Route 175, north of the Lake County border.
Both victims are from Sonoma County. They have not been identified. It's unknown how they died.
Two suspects -- the one who tried to flee, and the driver -- were arrested and are being held without bail.
