HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES -- A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was unveiled Wednesday morning in honor of Los Bukis, the iconic Mexican music band whose tours have included sold-out concerts at SoFi Stadium and Chicago's Soldier Field.
Actor Demian Bichir spoke at the late-morning ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard, and comedian Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias served as master of ceremonies.
"The level that is Los Bukis transcends so much that they're being honored in America on the streets of Los Angeles," said Iglesias. "You understand how much they had to work? This wasn't a goal. They just couldn't be ignored that the level that they achieved, and all the years that they've been doing this. I love the fact that I'm here to witness this."
Los Bukis received the 2,817th star on the iconic Walk of Fame, which was initially completed in 1961 with its original 1,558 stars.

Video from AIR7 showed hundreds of fans in attendance on the boulevard, a section of which was closed for the ceremony.
Marco Antonio Solís and his cousin Joel Solís, drummer Jorge Dávila and bassist Carlos Enrique González formed Los Bukis in 1973.
Solís - the band's lead singer - took time to thank the fans and even dedicated the star to immigrants.
His message comes at a time when immigrant communities in L.A. are feeling fear and anxiety amid the recent raids.
"To all the workers who strive every day to serve, I call them the silent force of service in this country," he said in Spanish. "The power of service. Silent, but making a lot of noise and doing a lot for this beautiful country. In these times of adversity, we want to dedicate a few words to you ... we are with you. Our hearts go out to all the people suffering from all these adversities. We fully trust that this will have a prompt solution."
The band's debut studio album, "Falso Amor," was released in 1975. The group went on to release an album annually from 1977 to 1983.
Los Bukis has received three Grammy nominations, the first of which came in 1984 for "Yo Te Necesito," which was nominated for best Mexican-American performance.
The bands hits include "Tu Cárcel," "Quiéreme," "Presiento Que Voy a Llorar," "A Donde Vayas," "Ya Ahora Te Vas," "Tus Mentiras," "Morenita" and "Necesito Una Compañera."
