Bradley Cooper's 'Is This Thing On?' stars Will Arnett, Laura Dern as couple in struggling marriage
The Searchlight Pictures film arrives in theaters December 19.
LOS ANGELES -- Searchlight Pictures' "Is This Thing On?" stars Will Arnett and Laura Dern as a couple in a struggling marriage.
The dramedy - directed, produced, and with a screenplay by Bradley Cooper - follows Alex (Arnett), who is "seeking new purpose in the New York comedy scene."
In the newly released trailer, Alex begins his stand-up comedy set with "I think I'm getting a divorce. What tipped me off was that I'm living in an apartment on my own. Yeah, and my wife and kids don't live there, so... That was probably the- the biggest clue."
While Alex uses his impending divorce as fuel for his career change, Tess (Dern) "confronts the sacrifices she made for their family - forcing them to navigate co-parenting, identity and whether love can take a new form."
Starring alongside Arnett and Dern are Andra Day, Bradley Cooper, Amy Sedaris, Sean Hayes, Christine Ebersole, Ciarán Hinds and Scott Icenogle.
The screenplay is written by Cooper, Arnett and Mark Chappell. Cooper and Arnett are also producers with Weston Middleton and Kris Thykier.
"Is This Thing On?" will hold its world premiere during the closing night of the 63rd New York Film Festival on October 10, ahead of its theatrical release, where it will head to select theaters on December 19.
