Sweet video shows moment mailman delivers dog's ashes, hugs tearful owner

A touching moment was captured on a doorbell camera as a mailman delivered the ashes of a beloved German Shepherd to her grieving owner, then sat beside her in quiet support.

Video from Krysten Klapatauskas shows her mailman, Malachi Knox, handing her the package before joining her on the porch in Wausau, Wisconsin.

The two shared a tearful hug.

Stoli, her 10-and-a-half-year-old dog, had died from cancer on July 4.

Klapatauskas told Storyful that Knox would stop to pet Stoli whenever he saw her during his rounds.

"Stoli barked at him every day, unless she was on the porch. Then, she demanded pets and belly rubs," she said.

"It brought me peace that he was the one who delivered her to me," Klapatauskas said.

"I know how it feels to lose a fluffy friend," Knox commented on Klapatauskas's viral video capturing the moment. "Please show compassion and kindness. It means the world," he added.
