Oscar-winning actor travels across all the seven continents in once-in-a-lifetime adventure

"For 100 days, I'm going to cross the seven continents because the answers to everything important are out there at the edges of our world." National Geographic's new docuseries features Will Smith as he pushes his mental and physical resilience to the limits.
Five years in the making, "Pole to Pole with Will Smith" follows the Oscar-winning actor's journey through the planet's most extreme environments from the South Pole to the North Pole. The 57-year-old celebrity travels across all seven continents, taking him from the icefields of Antarctica to the jungles of the Amazon, the mountains of the Himalayas, the deserts of Africa, the islands of the Pacific and the icebergs of the Arctic.
The newly released trailer shows the once-in-a-lifetime adventure featuring scuba diving under ice, climbing mountains, catching a giant anaconda, caves filled with tarantulas and more.
Smith admitted the series was "unlike anything" he's ever done before, "At times I feared I might not make it home! It's an exploration not just of the planet's edges, but of some of the most extraordinary people living there. From the coldest ice to the deepest jungles, the beauty of our world inspired my every step with awe and hope."
National Geographic's EVP of Content Tom McDonald shared, "We're inviting audiences to see our planet through Will's eyes - with all the wonder, humor, and humanity he brings to every experience. It's a thrilling adventure that embodies what National Geographic does best: combining jaw-dropping cinematography, powerful storytelling and a deeper understanding of how our world works - and why it matters."
"Pole to Pole with Will Smith," the seven-part docuseries, premieres Jan. 13 on National Geographic and streams the next day on Disney+ globally and Hulu in the U.S.
