SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The Bay Area's own Golden State Valkyries are in the WNBA Finals, playing against the Atlanta Dream.
As both teams aim for the championship trophy, beware of scammers aiming to steal your money with fake tickets.
First, buy from a trusted reseller like Ticketmaster or StubHub, or purchase directly from the Golden Sttate Valkyries' website, which includes the team's official resale marketplace.
Second, if you're buying on social media like Facebook Marketplace, AARP suggests buyers look at a seller's profile, so always check if it's legit. If it was made only a short time ago, or doesn't have much on there, it could be a fake profile.
Lastly, if you need a public spot to safely pick up those tickets, many police stations have a designated area at their station for buyers and sellers to meet.

"The Golden State Valkyries warn fans about the potential dangers of purchasing single-game tickets from a non-verified third party for the 2026 WNBA Playoffs, presented by Kaiser Permanente. Fans looking to attend Valkyries games at Chase Center during the WNBA Finals are encouraged to purchase tickets directly from the team by visiting Valkyries.com/tickets, which includes the team's official resale marketplace."
