'Zootopia 2' brings action-packed return to the mammal metropolis

We've waited almost a decade to return to Zootopia, and Wednesday is the big day!

The sequel to the Oscar-winning animated Disney classic takes us back to the mammal metropolis - right where we left off.

With 71 celebrity voices, tons of action, laughs, and even tears, "Zootopia 2" is an epic adventure fur-sure.

"I was saying that I'm going to cry," said Ginnifer Goodwin, who is the voice of Judy Hopps.

"She's the worst," laughs Jason Bateman, who voices Nick Wilde.

After almost a decade, Goodwin and Bateman are back as Zootopia's favorite buddy cops.

"It's so nice to come back together and kind of high-five a little bit and combine forces to try to make another one that's half as good as the first," says Bateman. "I think they went far beyond expectation. It's incredible."

Only this time, the bunny and fox duo is a bit off sync and trying to find their groove.

"You will laugh so hard, you'll probably cry a little, and then you'll also probably cry again," says Goodwin.

Creators Jared Bush and Delaware County's own Byron Howard created this world together.

"Jared and I have been a team for 14 years, best partner of my career," says Howard, Director and Lansdowne native. "And Yvette (Merino) and I teamed up on 'Tangled."

The trio went on to win an Oscar for "Encanto," and now they're taking us back to Zootopia, right where we left Hopps and Wilde.

"There are actually not very many sequels to buddy comedies because at the end of a buddy comedy, they're together and everything worked out," says Bush, Director/Writer/Chief Creative Officer. "We wanted to deepen their relationship. They're pretty flawed characters and we out them through the ringer."

"Abbott Elementary" star, Quinta Brunson, joins the cast as their therapy animal, Dr. Fuzzby.

"I am so happy to be a part of the family," says Brunson. "The first 'Zootopia' is one of my favorite animated features."

This time, Zootopia is tangled up in a bit of trouble.

Ke Huy Quan is the voice of Gary De'Snake, a perceived threat in Zootopia.

"He's a poisonous pit viper, so you can imagine he goes through life being labeled and stereotyped and feared," says Quan. "But he's such a friendly, goofy guy with such a big heart."

Fortune Feimster is also new to the zoo, as everyone's best hype-beaver, Nibbles Maplestick.

"This is a childhood dream that you didn't even know was possible," says she says. "I couldn't believe that, coming from a town of 12,000 people and growing up on Disney films, I am a part of this world."

Quan agrees. Entering the Disney legacy is a bucket list item.

"I grew up watching and loving Disney animated movies, and it just doesn't get any better," he says. "Nothing can beat that."

This sequel is wrapped up in a message of acceptable and inclusion.

"Don't judge the book by its cover," says Quan. "Embrace each other. The world is a happier place when we are together, or as they say in Zootopia, zoo-gether."

"Zootopia 2" is in theaters November 26.
