SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco's top brass is helping to make sure everyone in San Francisco has a happy Thanksgiving.

San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr, Mayor Ed Lee and Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White were on hand to carve turkeys at the Salvaton Army in San Francisco Wednesday.

400 Salvation Army volunteers will deliver holiday meals to more than 3,500 people who can't get out of their homes.

Private donations paid for the turkeys.
