Chicago Bulls guard Michael Carter-Williams is expected to miss the next three to four weeks after suffering a bone bruise to his left knee during Monday's victory against the Brooklyn Nets, a source close to the situation told ESPN.

Carter-Williams, who was acquired in the preseason from the Milwaukee Bucks in a trade for Tony Snell, went down clutching his knee during the second quarter Monday after attempting to block Sean Kilpatrick's shot.

It was initially feared that the injury was a torn ACL. However, Carter-Williams underwent an MRI on Monday, and the results showed a bone bruise, according to the source. He also suffered a sprained wrist from the fall.

Carter-Williams was averaging six points, four assists and 3.5 rebounds in the first two games for the Bulls. He suffered the injury after playing just five minutes against the Nets.br/]
