Jimmy V's daughter, cancer survivor awarded with 'Spirit of Jimmy V'
"It's because of cancer research that I'm alive today." Jamie Valvano, cancer survivor and daughter of the late, legendary basketball coach and ESPN commentator Jimmy V, received the highest award at the "V Foundation" in Napa, raising cancer awareness. Her dad lost his battle with cancer at the age of 47.
