LOS ANGELES -- To celebrate the release of FX's new series "Alien: Earth," premiering on August 12th on FX and Hulu, meet professional cosplayer and "Alien" franchise super-fan, Grace McClung.
"My first memory of 'Alien' would be watching that first movie," says Grace.
"Just being in awe of all the characters, of the story, of the aliens, how cool the Xenomorphs looked, how scary it was, and just wanting more of it," she adds.
Grace paid homage to the acclaimed franchise by creating an intricately detailed "Alien" Xenomorph costume using EVA foam, foam clay, paint, and other household items. The final result was a super-realistic 'Queen' costume, which garnered millions of video views on social media.
"I could never have imagined that that would go viral on TikTok," says Grace.
Grace's inspiration to become a cosplayer came from her love for comic books at a very young age. Now, she creates original costumes that she wears to Comic-Con events across the country.
"Literally never thought it would be what it is now," says Grace. "Just started out as a hobby, thought it'd be a fun thing to go to a Comic-Con in a costume, but immediately fell in love with it and have been doing it ever since," she adds.
As an 'Alien' fan, Grace is excited for FX's eight-episode television show.
"The upcoming show looks phenomenal," says Grace. "Honestly, quality-wise, I feel like it could be just as good, if not better, than the movies," she adds.
