Gas station gourmet: Gordo Ninos serves up a taste of "Hou-Mex"

HOUSTON, Texas -- From the outside, it may look like just another Houston gas station, but step inside and you'll find something much more flavorful.

Gordo Ninos is home to Chef Machete's unique cooking style, which he calls "Hou-Mex," a blend of Houston-inspired flavors and his Mexican roots.

One of the biggest standouts is his signature purple "lean sauce." The creamy, bright-purple sauce playfully nods to Houston culture and has become one of the restaurant's most recognizable creations.
