
Chantilly, Va -- The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center has served as the ultimate extension of the Air and Space Museum it houses the massive planes, historic spacecrafts, as well as record setting rockets simply too big for the national mall.
"We have visitors from all over the world coming." Explains, curator, Dr. Kathleen Lewis. "We have estimated about 1.2 million visitors a year."
The oldest plane in the museum is the Vander Sol Bolero and its also home to the longest serving space shuttle, Spacelab, which deployed the Hubble Space Telescope. The museum also houses the 71, which is the highest altitude spy plane.
