Berlin, MD -- In every culture throughout history the folklore of the mermaid has been told. The Mermaid Museum in Berlin, Maryland explores just that. The museum is the worlds first mermaid museum. "Theres still this big mystery out there and it kind of fascinates people. And people really connect with the water, so they relate to the mermaid." Explains, creator Alyssa Maloof. The museum is interactive, with peep holes under the displays revealing a hidden world, places to dress up as a mermaid and visitors can touch a mermaid tail. The museum also houses a Cheeto that looks like a mermaid and the infamous Fiji Mermaid. "People should come to the mermaid museum to just live the mermaid fantasy," says Maloof. "Just live the mermaid fantasy."
