NAVASOTA, Texas -- What was once a funeral home in Navasota is now a Gothic Victorian bed-and-brunch where vintage whimsy and haunting allure come together.
Ravenwolf Manor, an otherworldly getaway, was originally built in 1890 and also serves as the residence of the owner, Lawyer Douglas.
When we asked whether the home was haunted, he said he preferred a different description: enchanted.
"To me, a haunting is something that stays within and doesn't want you there." Douglas shared. "Whatever is in RavenWolf Manor definitely wants me here and definitely wants my guests here."
His fascination with the home links back to his childhood and a memorable visit to Disney's Haunted Mansion. He recalls being mesmerized by the attraction and imagining what it would be like actually to live inside it.
Decades later, that childhood dream has taken on a life of its own. Today, Douglas lives in a real-life version of the fantastical world that once captured his imagination. And nearly every corner of Ravenwolf Manor reflects that passion.
Watch the video above to take a peek inside the home and see the rooms that pay homage to Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Douglas also shows how he opens the home to the community and families with free movies on the lawn.
