2 brothers, a friend and a Detroit-style pizza place

BUSHWICK -- We all know New York pizza is impossible to beat, but two brothers joined with their best friend, along with a well-known chef to bring a taste of Detroit-style pizza to Bushwick.

Turbo Pizza is a familiar dive bar that serves Detroit-style pizza, wings and salads to the Bushwick neighborhood.

They discuss what makes their pizza unique, including the dough and cheese blend. The establishment aims to be a welcoming "third room" for the community.

"I had the sort of idea for this place and I wanted to work with one of my closest friends and my brother. And I was like, we don't have to try to sell pizza in Bushwick. It's one of my favorite styles of pizza and I kind of wanted to just be at a bar that is like with all my friends every day," said Max Nelson, owner of Turbo Pizza.
