It was determined to have accidentally started by someone cooking in one of the apartments.

Crews battle apartment fire in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- A residential fire in San Jose injured one and displaced six people early Saturday morning.

San Jose firefighters responded to a complex in the 1000 block of Capitol Avenue at about 2:30 a.m.

Two upstairs apartments were damaged by the fire and two units below were impacted by water from the response, according to the San Jose Fire Department.

One person was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

The fire was brought under control at about 4:45 a.m. It was determined to have accidentally started by someone cooking in one of the apartments.
