Alameda Co. firefighter wanted after allegedly faking death to evade child pornography charges: FBI

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- An Alameda County firefighter is now on the FBI's wanted list as authorities intensify their search for him.

Investigators believe Charles Johnathen Harris may have faked his own death in 2024 to avoid prosecution on child pornography charges. Authorities said the alleged incident occurred less than a month after he was charged.

As of Tuesday morning, authorities had issued a warrant for Harris' arrest.

Authorities continue searching for Harris as the investigation continues.
