HAVERFORD, Pa. -- A Haverford College professor is facing criminal charges after authorities accused him of sending dozens of threatening online messages to a victim over several months.

Guangtian Ha is charged with harassment and intimidation after allegedly sending approximately 50 threatening messages from at least four different social media accounts, according to court documents.

Investigators said the messages, which were antisemitic in nature, were sent between October 2025 and May 2026.

In a statement, Haverford College President Wendy Raymond said Ha was arrested Tuesday.

"I am deeply distressed by these allegations and want to state in the plainest of terms that any form of harassment or discrimination based on identity is unacceptable, antithetical to our values, and has no place at Haverford," said Raymond.

Raymond said Ha had already been on sabbatical leave and was not teaching during the current academic year.

Following his arrest, the college placed him on administrative leave and barred him from campus pending the outcome of the case.
