SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco leaders have picked what could become the new name for Cesar Chavez Street.
It comes after sexual abuse allegations against the late labor leader surfaced back in March.
A group appointed by the mayor's office is proposing to rename it Las Campesinas, which means "female farmworkers," and would still be a tribute to the labor movement.

The proposal needs approval from the Board of Supervisors and the Department of Public Works, which will get input from property owners along the street.
