3 injured after shooting on Pittsburg/Bay Point BART platform, transit agency says

BAY POINT, Calif. -- BART service has been halted between the North Concord/Martinez and Antioch stations Monday evening following a shooting on the platform at Pittsburg/Bay Point station, transit agency officials said.

BART officials first reported the incident around 5:45 p.m., shutting down Pittsburg/Bay Point station while BART police investigated the scene.

Officials say three people were injured in the shooting, and are being transported to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

A bus bridge has been established to shuttle affected passengers between the North Concord and Antioch stations. Commuters are advised to seek alternate routes, such as local Tri Delta Transit bus lines, and expect severe delays through the evening commute.
