Police investigating Oakland hit-and-run incident involving AC Transit bus

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run collision involving an AC Transit bus Wednesday afternoon that left multiple hurt in Oakland.

A spokesperson from AC Transit said the incident occurred shortly after 12:35 p.m. at 16th Avenue and International Boulevard when the driver of a southbound car collided with one of the agency's busses after driving into a "bus only" lane and attempting an illegal U-turn.

The motorist was said to have fled the scene, and police are actively seeking the vehicle.

Five bus riders reported minor injuries, according to AC Transit. The bus operator and remaining passengers were unharmed.
