The 2026 class features 18 honorees including Iron Maiden, Sade, Queen Latifah and Rick Rubin.

LOS ANGELES -- The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its class of 2026, a group of 18 honorees that spans heavy metal, Britpop and golden-era hip-hop. The list was revealed during a special episode of "American Idol."
This year's performer category features Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Sade, Oasis, Wu-Tang Clan, Luther Vandross and Joy Division/New Order.
"Induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is music's highest honor," John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, said in a statement. "We look forward to celebrating these remarkable artists at this year's ceremony - it's going to be an unforgettable night."
The induction of Collins marks his second time entering the Hall, having previously been inducted as a member of Genesis in 2010. For others, like Oasis and Iron Maiden, the announcement follows years of fan anticipation and multiple past nominations.
In addition to the main performer category, the Hall announced several Special Merit awards. Queen Latifah, Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, MC Lyte and Gram Parsons will receive the Early Influence Award.
The Musical Excellence Award will be presented to producers and songwriters Rick Rubin, Linda Creed, Arif Mardin and Jimmy Miller. Television host Ed Sullivan will be honored with the Ahmet Ertegun Award for his role in bringing rock and roll to mainstream American audiences.
The 41st annual induction ceremony will take place Nov. 14 in Los Angeles. The event will stream on Disney+ and air on ABC later this year.
