SAN JOSE, Calif. -- A police officer was injured during a traffic stop that prompted an officer-involved shooting early Monday in San Jose, police said.

The shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m., when officers pulled over a vehicle in the area of North 21st and East Santa Clara streets.

Police released few details on Monday afternoon but said that one officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and another officer fired their gun.

The vehicle fled the scene and shortly after a car that was possibly connected to the incident was located near Lucretia Avenue and Tully Road.

Police haven't announced any arrests and no other information was immediately available. A press release will be forthcoming, police said Monday afternoon.
