BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- A woman who was secretly poisoned by her co-worker at a Berkeley engineering firm back nearly 10 years is now sharing the hidden-camera video that helped catch him.

It comes as the man, identified as David Xu, who has been convicted of poisoning her, is set to appear in court Monday. He will ask an Alameda County judge to dismiss his felony conviction. Also known as an expungement.

He could have faced life in prison, but instead took a plea deal that landed him probation.

Xu was a chemical engineer at Berkeley Engineering and Research.

The video, shared with ABC7 Eyewitness News on Saturday, shows him tampering with her water bottle.

The Berkeley Police Department says he poisoned her with cadmium, a toxic heavy metal.

The poisoning nearly killed the victim.

Our media partner, The San Francisco Standard, reports the bottle contained cadmium levels, three-and-half-million times the federal drinking water limit.
