Stanfordwill be without five key players in Friday's ACC opener against No. 7 Miami, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
The Cardinal, who opened the season with a win against Hawai'i last week, will be without three starters on the offensive line -- left tackle Niki Prongos, guard Simione Pale and center Aidan Kilstrom -- along with wide receiver Nico Brown and edge rusher Gabe Kaminski.
Brown did not appear last week but had 71 catches for 1,085 yards and 11 touchdowns last season at Yale, where he led the FCS in receiving yards per game (108.5). Kaminski had 1.5 sacks against Hawai'i.
The Hurricanes, last season's national runner-up, were already set to be heavy favorites in their season opener, as quarterback Darian Mensah, a California native, is set to make his debut with the program.
