Fiancé remembers reporter Eliana Moreno one week after deadly helicopter crash
LOS ANGELES -- One week after a news helicopter crash in Chatsworth killed reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw and a man on the ground, Moreno's fiancé shared a message of gratitude and remembrance, thanking people for their support while mourning her loss.
In a statement posted to Instagram on Tuesday, Moreno's fiancé thanked those who have offered sympathy and prayers in the days since the crash. He also extended his condolences to others affected by the tragedy.
"I don't have the words to express the pain I feel in my heart from losing my love Eliana this way," he wrote.
He described Moreno's passion for her work and wrote about the future they had envisioned together.
"Eliana loved and was passionate about what she did, I would sometimes joke with her as she left for work that she was leaving to her favorite place," the statement said. "We had plans to one day retire and move to Tennessee have some land and care for some animals. Although those dreams are over, her memory will live in my heart and soul forever."

Moreno's fiancé said he felt fortunate to have shared his life with her and remembered her for her personality, kindness and sense of humor.
"I miss Eliana with every part of my body and soul. My heart aches for her return and wish I could hold her in my arms and tell her I love her," the statement said.
The statement concluded with thanks to family members and friends who have offered support and shared memories of Moreno.
"Thank you to everyone sending me all the [memories] and [stories] they have made with Eliana," he wrote. "My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy."
The NBC4 helicopter crash occurred Sept. 15 in Chatsworth, killing Moreno, Marciniw and Edy Gutierrez Mejia, who was on the ground. Moreno and Marciniw were covering a bus collision a few blocks away when the helicopter crashed.
