LONG BEACH, Calif. -- A San Jose man's family is seeking answers after he suffered a "traumatic and ultimately fatal" brain injury while attending the Vans Warped Tour concert in Southern California.

David Granado Jr. attended the tour's July 26 show in Long Beach with his girlfriend, brother and friends, according to a GoFundMe page created in his honor.

"As the family tries to piece together the timeline of what exactly happened to Dave in the hours leading up to being transported to the hospital, they are also facing the unexpected logistics and cost of medical bills and final arrangements," a statement on the fundraising site said. "Funds from this will go directly to Dave's mother."

Additional details about the cause of Granado's death were not available.

"With emergency surgery and multiple days of life support, the family is not sure what the final cost will be," the statement said. "We hope we can at least partially help relieve some of the financial burden as they deal with this devastating situation."

This year's Vans Warped Tour was headlined by the bands Jimmy Eat World, All Time Low and Bowling for Soup.
