Philadelphia, Pennsylvania -- Her motto is, "You get what you get. You don't get upset."
Emma Zielinski's company Chain Mail Unclaimed buys unopened mystery packages and sells them back to the public.
"I think it's fascinating to see how people select their packages and what speaks to them," says Emma.
"Packages tend to find the people that they are supposed to go to. It's really wild to see how that all connects."
The bags and boxes come from a broker, who sources them from suppliers and warehouses. She doesn't open them, and prices them by weight in different tiers. Most are priced from $10 to $40 per parcel.
This is her first year at the Christmas Village in Philadelphia. And judging by the line of eager customers waiting to buy, her business is really taking off.
Emma says, "We have grown so much. I hired two people to run the booth. I have another four people behind the scenes. It's really weird just trying to keep up with demand. At this point, we buy truckloads by 24 pallets at a time. We 'are about to receive our third delivery just for Christmas because we've been selling out constantly.
Many were pressing, squeezing, weighing and rattling to determine what could be inside.
Meredith Musman and her friends couldn't wait to find out what was inside of the package they chose.
"It's a new trend. Regardless of what you got, I think it's fun just to pick a random box and see what's inside."
Meredith was delighted to get a baby onesie jacket with little bear ears on the hood. Perfect for a friend of theirs.
Billy Marshall wasn't so lucky. A broken iPad case.
He says, "I bought one because I like the mystery of it. I wanted to try to get something cool. I got an iPad case. And it's broken. So, not really worth it but you can maybe get something good."
Emma says she goes through 500 packages a day. She can barely keep up with demand.
"It's been wild. I'm so excited that they had us be a part of the Christmas Village. It's bringing another layer of excitement here."
