People have been lined up outside Apple stores all night, including in Ardmore and Center City Philadelphia, waiting to flip open their own iPhone Duo.

In Center City, iPhone enthusiasts tell Action News, they began lining up at 11 p.m. Thursday, including one man who waited 13 hours.

"Imma open it up. Let it start booting itself up, then I'm going to sleep for sure," said Allister Surgenor, of Harrisburg.

"I told myself if I see one person out here waiting, then I'm getting out and waiting. I've been waiting for like seven years," said Aaron, who was among others also waiting in line. "That explains it. I been waiting!"

Surgenor says it was all about the journey to get his hands on the new phone.

"It was really fun. We froze together, held each others line so we could run to Wawa and go to the bathroom," he said.

He drove all the way from Harrisburg and camped outside the Apple store in Suburban Square in Ardmore for hours.

But If you felt he came a long way, Action News also met Jenny Lin and her family, who traveled all the way from New York City.

Apple describes the phone as having a breakthrough foldable design. It's a nod to the throwback flip phone design, that's now all the rage.

It has the largest display ever on iPhone and it will also be the thinnest iPhone ever.

The phone opens to a 7.6 inch display that is 80% larger than the newest iPhone 18 Pro. It will let people use an Apple Pencil on the phone, a capability previously reserved to iPad users.

Apple also promises the phone has an advanced camera and new IOS operating system experience.

Duo "will redefine the experience of using a foldable phone," Apple's CEO says.

The Duo also lets users split the screen to use two different apps on the device, or two windows the same website for things like comparison shopping.

"It's a new phone! First time Apple came out with a flip phone like some people call, but it's a foldable. Something new, why not?" said Jay, to Action News. "It's Apple, it's 100 percent worth it."

Many of Apple's biggest rivals, such as Samsung, Motorola and Google, have already come out with foldable smartphones.

Online pre-orders sold out almost instantly and Apple says in store supplies are limited.

Stores in the Delaware Valley opened two hours early for the anticipated rush.

The phone will run you anywhere from $1,900, to up to $3,000, depending on storage capacity selection.
