The Alameda District Attorney charged Kash's sister, Vernika Dunbar, with involuntary manslaughter

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- The sister of reality television star 'Kash' has been charged in her death, Oakland police announced on Wednesday.
The Alameda District Attorney charged Kash's sister, Vernika Dunbar, with involuntary manslaughter.
Kash, whose real name is Mackayla Paige, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound near 14th and Harrison streets early Sunday morning.
Police say Dunbar grabbed a gun while Paige was attempting to fight another woman.
Dunbar was attempting to hit the person Paige was fighting, when the gun went off, killing Paige.
Officers attempted lifesaving measures before she was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
Dunbar was taken into custody that same day. She is also charged with assault and carrying a loaded firearm in public.

Paige, who was from Richmond, was 29 years old.
She gained a following through her appearances on Now That's TV, a streaming platform featuring reality shows often centered around dramatic confrontations and physical fights.
She appeared on "Young & Reckless," "RoomMHates" and "Now That's Riot."
Paige's cousin, Azima King, told ABC7 Eyewitness News on Monday, the loss is difficult to comprehend.
"Honestly I don't know how I feel. I'm floating. Shaking. I've been shaking since yesterday," she said.
King said her cousin's ambitions extended far beyond reality television.
"She just wanted better for her life. And she wanted to be better. And she wanted to change," King said.
The network paid tribute to Paige on Instagram on Sunday writing, "Though her time with us was far too short, her memory will live on."
