SAN JOSE, Calif. -- A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in San Jose on Friday morning, police said.

The collision was reported shortly after 9:15 a.m. in the 1400 block of Mabury Road. The pedestrian died, and their identity has not been released.

San Jose police did not release any details about what led to the collision, but said Mabury Road will be closed into the afternoon hours while officers investigate.

This comes less than 24 hours after two pedestrians were injured in a separate crash Tuesday night in San Jose.

It also comes days after an 18-month-old boy was killed Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a minivan in the parking area of a San Jose condo complex.
