Takeaway of the Day
We enjoyed a bit of warm August sunshine today away from the coast, with high temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees around the bay and in the lower to mid-90s in the warmest inland areas. Coastal clouds, however, lingered long enough into the morning hours to inhibit warming at our beaches. As a result, coastal highs were mainly in the mid-60s. We can expect a relatively shallow or compressed marine layer tonight, along with patchy drizzle offshore and near the coast.
A Look Ahead
Tomorrow will be another sunny, warm late-summer day, with minor warming along the coast. Under mainly sunny skies, highs will reach into the upper 60s near the coast, near 80 degrees around the bay shoreline, and mid-90s inland. Minor cooling will occur on Monday and Tuesday, with high temperatures a few degrees lower than tomorrow's highs, but a gradual warming trend will begin on Wednesday and continue into next weekend.
