Philadelphia, Pennsylvania -- Taneisha Moody has been a SEPTA Regional Rail Engineer and Train Operator along the Wawa/Media Line for 22 years. She's been at the Pennsylvania transportation agency since 2001.
She credits the amazing mentorship of women who came before her as Train Operators and Engineers. Thanks to the training and fellowship she received at SEPTA on her way up, she's been able to advance to where she is now. And she wants to inspire other young women to start a career in railway engineering.
She says, "It feels good to be a part of a community. All my coworkers are my family, my friends. It feels good to be a part of something you love."
When she's not hauling millions of commuters, travelers, tourists and citizens across the Philadelphia landscape, Taneisha loves riding her motorcycle around town too.
She says she hopes more young women would consider a career as engineers and operators because as she notes, "If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life."
