Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame inducts Rita Ferro, Stephen A. Smith
NEW YORK CITY -- A special event took place Tuesday night to honor the pioneers, innovators, and stars of the broadcasting industry.
A new class was officially inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame.
Among the honorees were Andy Cohen and Bobby Flay, along with Disney's President of Global Advertising Rita Ferro and ESPN's Stephen A. Smith.
"It's not a night to sit up there and stick my chest out and look at what I've accomplished. There's so many people that have helped me along the way. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them," Smith said.
"I mean it's surreal in many ways. Thirty years, almost, at the Disney Company. I never thought the day I walked in that this would be possible," Ferro said.
Also honored Tuesday night was "Star Trek," which was named "Franchise of the Year" as the television, movie and cultural phenomenon celebrates its 60th anniversary.
